How Memory Clone handles local clone data, account data and billing information.
Account and billing data
We may store your account email, hashed password, license status, Stripe customer identifiers, orders, subscriptions, credit balances, audit events and support messages so the service can verify access and keep billing records.
AI usage
Before a Persona Blueprint is built, the desktop app asks for explicit consent. It then sends a bounded evidence package of selected chat excerpts and local style analysis to OpenAI. During a conversation, the app sends the current prompt and selected local memory snippets to OpenAI to generate a reply. These excerpts may identify you or third parties and may contain sensitive information. Raw import archives and local databases are not uploaded as a whole.
AI provider retention and training
OpenAI states that API data is not used to train its models unless the customer explicitly opts in. By default, abuse-monitoring logs may be retained for up to 30 days. Memory Clone requests non-persistent responses where supported.
Inferences
Clone Map and Persona Blueprint can infer relationships, writing style, recurring topics, reactions and emotional patterns from the material you select. These are probabilistic AI-assisted observations and may be inaccurate.
Security and access
Passwords are stored as hashes. The application talks to the server through authenticated endpoints and the server remains the source of truth for paid access, clone slots and Talking Credits.
Your control
You can turn cloud processing off for each clone, archive a clone, permanently delete its local source files, chats, index, map and blueprint, and submit an access, correction, export, restriction or deletion request for server account data. A deletion request is reviewed rather than applied blindly: invoices, payment and tax records, fraud-prevention evidence, security logs, audit history and the request record may be retained in restricted form where law or legal claims require it. Back up local data first if you want to preserve it.
